For those who can’t take care of themselves, we need a person. This is called caregiver, attendant if the person is sick; if the child is a child developer, play sister/brother, caregiver; the elderly can take the names of the caregivers.
So how about abroad? If you are in a hospital in the west, a attendant is not accepted, this service is provided by the staff nurse of the hospital. If you live in the Middle East, we can assume that all members of the family live together. I even came across people who set up tents in the hospital garden in the Central Asian Turkic Republics. Turkey is positioned between these two examples. There is nurse support in the hospital, but there is a need for attendants as there is not enough nurse employment. The fact that children or spouses have to work due to the weight of living conditions creates a need for someone to stay. Here, the problem arises as to who will take care of the patient. Sometimes, support is received from neighbors, and this is a problem when people do not have basic health information. Of course, it is also important that it is not sustainable. Another solution is to take advantage of companies that provide this service. Of course, it is necessary to pay attention to the references of the company here, it turns out that we are the company that opens a website on the Internet and puts ads on Instagram, how much will we trust? Another factor that will help us here is the existence of the agreement made by the hospital with that company. No one can host a company that will cause problems in their hospital. Therefore, if the hospital we receive service from has such an agreement, this creates an element of trust.
We came to home care, the person who wrote these lines had been taking care of his father for 4 years until very recently. Our advantage was that both me and my mother were healthcare professionals. Despite this, we kept a permanent caregiver at home for general needs. The caregiver or attendant who will stay at home here should have basic health knowledge and first aid. When only the patient and attendant are left at home, he should not panic in an emergency, ask for professional help from 112, and provide first aid to the patient until help arrives. Again, even if it is not an emergency, the patient should know how to clean, dress and feed if necessary. Here, “foreign caregiver” is an option, but the trust issue we have just mentioned is always present. Another option is to purchase this service from a company. Although it may seem like a slightly more expensive option, it contains the elements of trust and knowledge that I have mentioned above.
Finally, I would like to include child and babysitting. You are leaving the most precious of your life to someone else. Your mind shouldn’t be there. It would be great if you could find someone who studied child development preferably for 2 years. But even if you can’t find it, it is also among the options to look for someone reliable or get help from a company.
Sometimes, although it is difficult to accept, a period when you can stand on your own feet easily disappears. If only youth could go on forever…
